What’s your favorite mug?
If you share it with ACME grocery stores, you could win McCafé coffee for a year!
My favorite mug is the one I got from the Grand Ole Opry earlier this year. In a whirlwind of offline activity, we went on vacation in Ocean City, Maryland for a week, then three days later, I took off by myself for four days in Nashville with Tommy Nelson Books. Three days after I got back from that, I had surgery to fix the carpal tunnel in my right hand.
If you were wondering what happened to me this fall, I had a lot going on. It was a crazy time.
At any rate, I am a rabid country music fan, and I have always wanted to go to Nashville (and now I want to go back!). The people at Tommy Nelson Books are wonderful (WONDERFUL), and they planned a fabulous trip for us. After a long day of meetings, we had a day and a half of sightseeing and Nashville experiences, one of which was the Grand Ole Opry.
Seeing the Grand Ole Opry live was one of my bucket list items, so I was giddy as I watched Little Jimmy Dickens stroll out on stage in all his sequined splendor.
Then, as if that were not enough, a tour guide fetched us in the middle of the third set for a backstage tour during the show.Â
I almost dropped dead right there in the middle of the theater.
We saw Vince Gill in his dressing room, and passed by Steve Wariner and a handful of other country music greats. I think I Instagrammed every other minute. It was incredible.
So after the show, I bought a cool mug (and a bunch of other things) at the GOO gift shop. It’s all gold and sparkly, just like the old time performers’ outfits.
I just love it.
