Four isn’t that big. Four is practically a baby.
But this person is big, isn’t she?
The jeans, the button down shirt, the hair in a ponytail, the hand on her hip. This is a big kid. Practically kindergarten ready, if we were choosing that route.
My chest feels tight looking at that picture.
This person selected that shirt at the store.
This person likes taking pictures and thinks about what she wants to do when she’s big.
This person likes pajama jeans and sparkles and rainbow sneakers.
This person likes to dance and makes jokes like, “Who do you think you’re talking to?!” before bursting into giggly laughter.
This person thinks about Jesus and has been studying the story of Joseph and his brothers for the last three weeks.
This person surprises me every single day.

I was just being amazed at how big she looks. She’s almost four and a half.
Awww, I know how you feel! My baby is turning 5 in less than 2 weeks! Oh it breaks my heart because he’s probably my last and 5 is *not* a baby no matter how much I want him to be!
