Mess has a way of following us where ever we go.
I think it’s because we have kids.

This was our room at the Great Wolf Lodge just after Grace emerged from the bath.
She was looking for her blue pants.
They’re somewhere near the bottom of the pile.

Hi!
We are in wonderful company, aren’t we?
I’ve been increasingly stressed about the house lately. I think it’s just because it’s summer and there’s more dirt being tracked in now.
I imagine. And you have my messy kiddo times 4, right? I can’t imagine having more mess than we do right now.
On the other hand, I have to admit that a lot of our mess problem is my fault. If my kid had fewer toys, there would be a lot less mess. We have far too much stuff in this house. Enough for your kids and mine and our neighbors’, too.
Yeah, I’m afraid that is what my house looks like 90% of the time. I can put something away, turn around, and it IS BACK. It’s the miracle of two-year-old, I suppose.
I don’t think that’s exactly it. I think it’s more like the miracle of children, period. Putting things away is an exercise in futility.
Thank you
I read a magazine article once that was written by a woman whose mother always cleaned up after her while she was playing. She said that she never got to be creative because her mother was always putting her toys away. I vowed not to be that mom, but I think my pendulum swung a little too far.
