Welcome to Feels Like Home!
Hi. I’m Tara. It’s great to meet you!
I am the mother of two small children and the wife of a doting husband. It’s a great life even though I struggled after the birth of my second daughter.

I was a high school science teacher for ten years, but I resigned a few weeks ago to stay at home full time with those two girls.
Would you like to hire me to blog or write for you? Know someone who might? Let’s chat.
I am passionate about the Lord, about being a mother, about teaching my girls, about learning, writing, and creating. I am also passionate about helping people, and that’s what I try to do here with this little mom blog.
I host Share Your Sunday Best, a weekly meme in which I ask readers to share their best post of the week. Any (family friendly) that you’d like to share is awesome.
I am launching an Etsy shop called Violet Elephant on April 11. I love journals, and I am creating a whole line of journals to help guide your writing.
You know, because I have a lot of spare time.

Happy blog partying! I have followed you on Twitter forever but I don’t visit your blog nearly enough. I promise to click through to learn more & I will definitely come back to use your recipes. Hope to see you over at my little corner of the blogosphere soon.
Hi Tara! I hope you get some paid gigs outta this post! I love that you are staying at home with your girls and still have a passion for writing. I am in the same boat. Instead of offering to write for people I offer to edit! Unfortunately, I have seen quite a few blogs that don’t edit before hitting publish and if they would just proofread or hire me LOL
I’ve done quiet a bit of editing, too, and I know exactly what you mean! I’m never sure if they don’t know or if they don’t pay attention. Sad either way.
Hi Tara, I’ve been over before and follow you already on Twitter but wanted to say hi from the party. I am glad you’ll be home with your two sweethearts:) I used to teach too and don’t regret going on hiatus to be a SAHM for one second. Our newest little love will be born in August so then I’ll have two underfoot as well. It was very brave of you to share your stuggles with us, I know it will help others who might be going through the same thing.
Hey Tara! We’ve already chatted on twitter a few times, but wanted to say hi on this anyway. The “high school science teacher” caught my eye! I was a biology teacher before I took a leave to stay at home with my two also!
We’ve definitely have a lot in common. So fun!
New follower from the hop!!
Congratulations on your new “position” of being a SAHM. It’s definitely the best choice I ever made! Hope your etsy shop and writing go well!
Stop by and say hi when you get a chance and have fun “partying” this week!

Visiting by way of the UBParty and something about your blog really caught my attention — most likely the down-to-earth feel that you have given it. I plan to visit often and invite you to do the same at http://www.makingithomewebzine.com/blog

Hello! I have been a longtime follower on Twitter but sometimes I forget to check out the blogs, too. I’m bookmarking so I can visit more often. Good for you on staying home with your babies. You won’t regret it! My boy is 7 and I just started back to work. I treasure the years I stayed home with him.
I love it when I see Disqus for comments. It is the ultimate comment form, in my opinion. Its been a while since I visited Feels Like Home. It sure does!
Hi Tara,
Lovely to meet you and your blog through UPB. This is my first year and I am finding many wonderful blogs, like yours.
Fondly,
Glenda
