One of our best friends has an amazing swimming pool; we spend many of our summer days there.
Some of my favorite memories summer after summer are made at her home. It’s the perfect combination: good friends, good food, and a lot of laughter.
Some time this summer, Grace discovered that she could reach the bottom in the shallow end of the pool. Since then, she hasn’t wanted to wear her swimmies, replacing them almost all of the time with a simple pink inner tube.
Her confidence doesn’t end with the inner tube.
Can you tell what she’s doing with her father?
(Besides laughing.)

It’s not a hug. It is total silliness.
How about this one? Can you tell what they’re doing?

No?
They switched places for the next shot, so it might be easier to see what’s going on.

Is it making more sense now?
They were giving each other piggy back rides.

The only problem was that Grace isn’t big enough for her father to sit on her shoulders.
Obviously.
That doesn’t stop her from giving him a piggy back ride.
Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings. –Samuel Johnson

PS You didn’t tell me how I could be a Philadelphia blogger yet… please divulge : ) XO
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. She is such a little cutie! I love that they were having fun and playing together. We love our pool in the summer too! I mean, it is SO flipping hot this summer, we practically need to live there!
This is my first visit to your sweet blog via The Inspired Room but I will be returning! Thank you for inspiring me to smile today. Such a sweet story!
I hear you! It’s even worse on days like today, when it’s only in the seventies, but the humidity is so high. Our A/C isn’t doing a very good job of keeping it comfortable in here.
I think there are instructions on the Philly Social Media Moms site. http://www.phillysocialmediamoms.com/
My children, I have four, used to do that with their dad. I agree it is a huge confidence boost to be able to do “big” person things. Our kiddies loved the thought that they were strong enough in the water to carry their dad on their backs. It was as if they were thinking: “See Daddy, I can take of you, just like you take care of me; cause i love you so much!”
Look at your beautiful daughter’s face, shinning with pride as she “carries” daddy around on piggy back!
