Oh, the prizes. Each mom was asked to bring a package of diapers to donate to a Chester County charity. In exchange for our donation, we received raffle tickets that we could use to enter drawings for all sorts of prizes – everything from strollers and travel systems to prize baskets to gift certificates.
I had a ticket strategy.
I know, I’m a dork.
My mom always told me, “It only takes one ticket to win,” so I put one ticket in each drawing that I was even remotely interested in. Then I put 2 or 3 more tickets in the prizes I really liked, and split all the rest of my tickets between the drawings for a beautiful baby nursery set and a video baby monitor.
My strategy worked.
I won three prizes – a gift bag from Soothe Time, a Safety 1st Aerolite Stroller, and my absolute favorite prize, the Kenneth Brown nursery set (including the bedding, lamp, mobile, wall art, and wall decals).
I was so excited when they called my number that I jumped up and screamed. And then I blurted out, “I don’t even know if I’m having a girl!”
Because I’m a dork.
Oh, well. If the baby turns out to be a boy, Grace will get a bedroom makeover. She’ll be delighted. We’re actually toying the idea of making over her room now, but I think we’re going to wait until later on.
Maybe this new gorgeous bedroom could be Grace’s gift from the baby.
Anyway, for Things I Love Thursday, I just wanted to spread the love and say thank you to all of the sponsors and organizers of the Baby Shower Extravaganza.
