Breakfast Pizza with Fresh Fruit

September 23, 2009

A couple weeks ago, Sara Lee sent us a couple of packages of their brand new Mini Bagels. Those bagels were delicious, and they were the perfect size for Gracie.

Sara Lee Chef Jill Houk shared this recipe with me a couple of weeks ago, and I knew instantly that Grace would love it. She is smitten with fruit, and she loves her baby ‘agels.Sara Lee Soft & Smooth Mini Bagels

I was right.

Of course.

Breakfast Pizza with Fresh Fruit

  • 1 Sara Lee Soft & Smooth Mini Bagel
  • 1 Tablespoon neufchatel cheese (that’s the lower fat cream cheese that is sold in a carton that looks just like regular cream cheese)
  • 2 thin slices pear
  • 2 strawberries, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 kiwi, thinly sliced
  • 5-10 fresh blueberries
  1. Split bagel and smear each half with neufchatel.
  2. If your kid is old enough, put the sliced fruits out on a plate and let her decorate each half with fresh fruit. If she’s not old enough, decorate it for her.

My Advice

Don’t be uptight about it. If your kid wants to eat all of the pieces separately, let her. Who cares, as long as she’s eating the fruits and the whole grains?

Don’t have the fruit listed? Use whatever fruit you have. Use whatever fruit your kid will eat. Chef Jill says that even raisins will work beautifully.

I’m easy like that, Dear Reader. The only thing I ask is that you link back here to Grace’s Kitchen Friends in your post. I can’t wait to see what your kids are doing!
