Two Flowers

August 27, 2009

I have been a photographing fool in the days since BlogHer.

This week was the very first week of school, and Grace and I stopped by to visit Grandma and Pappy a few times on the way home from school.

One day, while Grace was busy harassing playing with my parents, I snuck around the flower beds to take some pictures. It was the best kind of photo session – free props, simple camera, and my newly acquired skills yearning for a test.

When I saw these two flowers, hidden in the shade of a maple tree that I planted, I knew they would make great photos.

Like siblings vying for the attention of a parent, the two flowers try to ease each other out of the precious sunlight.

I love how the photos turned out.

I hope you like them, too.

Tara, you are getting good! I’m crazy about flowers, so these are gorgeous. Look at that red color! Very nice! But, I am dying to know how you are getting the flower focused and the background blurry?! I guess that is something I could not do with my simple point and shoot digital. I would love to see you do a photo post, if you wanted to share your newly acquired skills-which I am loving! I honestly think you should submit some of these flower pictures to Birds and Blooms Magazine, they are just that gorgeous. =)
