I’m reviewing a new DVD from photographer Nick Kelsh where he says,
There’s a moment in all parents’ lives when they realize there’s a big kid where their baby once was.
I’ve had lots and lots of those moments, and they always make me sad.
This moment wasn’t really one of those times. Gracie and I and my mom were playing in my mom and dad’s front yard. The trees are full of big wind chimes with beautiful voices, and Grace loves making them all sing.
She looked – and acted – every moment of her two years as she ran around the yard laughing.
But then, when I looked at the pictures on my laptop, I saw a happy girl looking back at me.
A happy girl who bears little resemblance to the baby I used to play with.

Beautiful pictures! They do grow so fast! Too fast. I have reached that weepy, sentimental state that doesn’t seem to ever go away in my house. One daughter is grown and on her own and the other is racing toward that independence full speed. I want them to have their adventures, but wish I could keep them a while longer. It’s a mom conundrum!!! Thanks for sharing your little one and hope you’re having a wonderful day!

I look at my daughter lately and while I still call her a baby, I’ve realized, painfully, that she’s not. She is a LITTLE GIRL and while I look forward to what’s to come, I also miss my BABY!
Her smile on that one is made me smile!

Ahh, Gracie is so beautiful (as always)! Her green shirt sure brings out her eyes! The time really goes by sooo quickly, I just did a similar post yesterday. How can they be so completely different in just two years!? It’s so bittersweet. Great pics! =)
