The thing on my laptop is a leather organizer. For liquids and gels, you're supposed to have them in 3oz containers or smaller, and all of them have tofit into a large zip top bag. For liquids and gels, you’re supposed to have them in 3oz containers or smaller, and all of them have tofit into a large zip top bag. I think you can find the regs on the FAA website and also on your airline’s site.

The first time I did indeed throw away shaving cream, lotion, and I forget what else... Oh, and I used curbside check-in and left my dang ID on that table. Did not realize it until I got allll the way in to the security booth, and had to go back. Not fun with carrying stuff. And I have left disappointed kids by the check-in. Gone are the days that you dream of in the movies when you can wave at the plane as it pulls off.
