It took me quite a while to wean my elder boy from the bottle. What worked well is to move directly from bottle to straw bottle(I got the Munckin one for them as it is anti-leak) My 2yr old is still taking a straw bottle before going to bed but is able to drink well from a cup if he desires.
Don't stress yourself out with Gracie still refusing to give up her beloved bottle. It will take some time but by 3yr old they should be off it.

Our girls gave up the bottle because the older cousins didn't drink from a bottle. I find that using the older cousins as examples comes in handy some times.

I have a 2 and a half year old daughter who still isn't ready to give up her bedtime bottle either. Same exact experience at our home. My mom tells me I drank a night-time bottle until I was 3 and my older sister until she was 4... I'm hoping she'll be ready when she is 3 of course, but I also won't let her experince such drama over a bottle, she won't be drinking one at bedtime when she is 5 (hopefuly!!) so it's definitely OK for now...

I'm so glad to never have had that particular problem... though diaper removing with all 3 and now on to the second huge paci lover. The first was 2 and I had to start snipping more and more of her paci off until she decided she didn't like a messed up paci anymore!
This last one seems to like her bottle a lot (along with her paci) so we'll see...
The first two were on to sippy cup before 1year old. They get water at night to go to bed but we're trying to stop that for potty training reasons for the second one :)

Candice’s last blog post..Disaster is my kids' middle name
