The Best Easter Morning Ever

Last Easter was not very exciting. Grace didn’t know what was going on.

This year, she got it. She was excited to paint eggs, she knew there were goodies in the eggs, and she had fun searching for Easter eggs. Fun, fun, fun.

Easter morning was awesome. The night before, I hid Grace’s Elmo Easter basket and five Elmo eggs (each containing 2 Jolly Rancher jelly beans) around the living room, and I put the sixth egg next to her bed.

When Grace woke up on Easter morning, she saw the Elmo egg before she even got out of bed. Joe and I heard it rattling from our room. Elmo! Egg! She said, and we set out to find more Elmo eggs.

Did I mention that it was the best Easter morning ever?

After the fun was over, Joe and I started cooking in preparation for our guests. We heard no sound coming from the living room.

No playing.

No tv.

No singing.

No sound.

So I snuck over to the top of the stairs with my camera, suspecting something interesting. That’s exactly what I found.

Stealthy

Grace had removed her pants. They were on the floor, just outside of this photo.

Grace had also removed her Easter basket from the high shelf it was sitting on. She rooted around to find the goodies. The ones she found were already in her mouth. See her cheeks? They’re loaded.

Grace wasn’t satisfied with the goodies she found on top of the grass, so she dumped the basket out and spread the contents from one end of the couch to the other in an attempt to find more goodies under and in the grass.

I hadn’t put much candy in her basket, so she didn’t find many goodies.

It wasn’t because she didn’t try.

How funny! She was serious about her easter candy, and I don’t blame her.

That’s too funny! My son failed to notice the baskets right in plain view when he woke up in the morning and snuck into my bed. He actually wasn’t feeling great so I had to really try to get him out of my bed to go see his basket.
