A Big Kid Needs Big Shoes

p22701501Is this a big kid or what?

I took this photo a month ago, when we were visitng Joe’s parents on the weekend of Joe’s grandmother’s funeral. Grace was having fun playing with her PopPop.

The outfit Grace is wearing in this picture is from The Children’s Place, and it is a size 4T. 4T. At the time, she was 20.5 months old. Wearing a 4T.

I don’t know her height and weight. I haven’t checked since she had a virus earlier in the winter and lost two pounds. Between that and her refusing to eat reliably, I was becoming a little neurotic.

I stopped weighing and starting relying on Grace to know when she was hungry. It seems to be working.

So anyway, I took Grace to Stride Rite today to have her feet measured. I just got her new sneakers in January, but I noticed this week that she’d been tripping a lot more than normal.

Her “old” shoes are barely dirty, but they are too small. Of course, I bought her a new pair in her new size, and the new ones light up.

In case you’re keeping track, my now 21.5 month old toddler wears a size 4T shirt and pants and a kids’ size 8W shoe.

Next month, we’ll be shopping in the juniors department.

Happily submitted to PhotoHunters (the theme this week is four) and Random Picture Challenge

Holy cow! You must be a good cook. She’s growing like a weed! That’s great. She’s a cutie. My little guy wore his first pair of Stride Rite’s a whopping three times. Well, two and a half. He took one of them off and threw it in the luggage department of JCPenney and I had to go back the next day to find it.

A size 8 shoe does sound big. But Noah’s in 7.5 and he’s skinny as a rail — he still wears 12m clothes half the time… Can’t quite imagine the 4T stuff. It would be fun to see Grace and Noah together! I wonder how their heights compare. I have no idea how tall N is, but he’s shot up since his 18m appt I know (and not gained anything at all, according to the Wii).

Love the picture!! Okay, so, in 2T and size 5 1/2 shoe. Hard to believe they are the SAME age. Like I said before, isn’t it wonderful how God makes us all unique. Your Grace is so adorable. I LOVE pictures of her. Her smile is infectious!

Well, LB is almost in the same sizes! 4t in most clothes, although she still has a few 24 mo that fit her (stretchy fabric, I guess). And she’s in a 7 shoe.

One tip I learned recently is to let her eat at her own pace. I usually finish eating before she’s done, so I let her finish while I clean up. That way I’m not telling her to hurry up. She can enjoy herself and finish when she’s full.

BTW, is feedburner wonky for you? I didn’t have any new posts for your feed and clicked over because I knew that was unusual. I’m wondering if anyone else if having feed issues?

Heather – Gracie actually eats really quickly. She eats the few bites that she wants (not much most of the time), and then she goes off and plays in the kitchen or the dining room while Joe and I finish. It sounds like the opposite of your situation!
