Last year, on Mother’s Day, several well-meaning relatives made a point of telling me I wasn’t a mom yet. (Bitterness? What bitterness?) I felt otherwise, especially since I had 36 weeks or so of severe morning sickness to prove my point.
This year, however, there is no doubt that I’m a momma. To that end, I gave my darling husband a short list of items I might like to get for Mother’s Day. (One item can be a short list, right?) You know what he said, to my surprise?
Go ahead and get it, if that’s what you want.
YES!
It’s probably cheating, but I’m going to give you a sneak peak of my present. (Joe said it was okay.)

Of course, mine is going to have a G, J, and T inside, with a ruby heart (my birthstone, since it’s my heart).
I can’t wait until it arrives!
You’ll know when it does; I’ll post pictures.
And a scrapbook layout.
And a post in which I gush how gorgeous it is.

That’s a cool pendant! I’ve never seen one like it. Wanna share your source? I’m still on the fence whether I want to drop hints about Mother’s Day or just play it cool and see what DH thinks of himself. I’m a little bit afraid of disappointment… this holiday has been about OUR moms for so many years! It would kill me if he forgot it entirely.

The last time I didn’t give a short list of desired gifts, I got a pack of oreos, a couple of twix bars, and a picture frame to replace one he broke. It all came from the right place, but I will, from now on, provide a list to inspire him. In fact, I’ve been keeping an on-going list since that time.
