Patience

I have always been an impatient person. I harass my husband to tell me what he got me for Christmas, and he says over and over, “You’ll see. Patience is a virtue.” I hate hearing that because I’m don’t understand patience. I wait eagerly for every big moment of my life, and I dislike the wait. I hate anticipation, and I’m not big on surprises.

I never expected to learn patience from my kid. You see, my kid is as willful and impatient as I am. When I was a baby, my mom says I threw fits. Now Grace throws fits. I’m patient, more patient than I thought I would ever be, and I wait for the fit to be finished. And then we go on.

Who would’ve thought?

See, I love (good) surprises. I don’t want to know what I’m getting for Christmas, even Christmas day.

Tara, thanks for your comment! I don’t mind surprises, I just hate waiting for things that I am expecting. Like food, or a light to turn green, or for people to give me the right of way, just because I have the baby with me. Stuff, garbage really.

What does it really get me besides high blood pressure? Nothing, and makes me a bad example.

I look forward to reading more! Have a great day!
